In June I had the pleasure of photographing a pretty great couple.  Sven & Laura are very easy to be around and a ton of fun to joke around with.  I really had a riot teasing Sven during the formal photos at Ambleside Beach and getting that little smirk from him.  I look forward to doing your trash the dress session when you get back from your honeymoon.

The wedding took place at Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver and they had the amazing Marilyn Knipp as their officiant.  I love seeing her at ceremonies … they are always so animated and full of love and laughter.

It was so nice to be seated with one of my past bride & grooms (Lauren & Kristina) and get caught up.  Congrats on your baby girl … can’t wait to meet her

Six years ago today was the best days of my life!  I became the mother to the most wonderful little boy.

Dear Max,

There are so many things I love about you that it is hard to put into words.  You are such a gentle boy and you make me so proud every day seeing how you interact with people whether they are young or old.  Your laughter and sense of humor cracks me up on a daily basis.  You are so inquisitive and always asking questions trying to learn everything you can about every topic … it is sometimes hard to keep up  :).  If I can have one wish on your birthday  … it is that we will always have our special bond.  You are always wanting to snuggle, kiss me or hold my hand…even when you are sleeping, playing or watching tv…

You are my greatest accomplishment.  I love you to the moon and back!!  Happy Birthday!!

I am a photographer and I never seem to take any photos of my family.  This needs to change  :).    Here are some photos I took of my little turkey about a week ago.  His favorite place ever … the beach … we threw rocks in the ocean and looked for kryptonite (aka sea glass)

New Chucks

I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely family a couple of weeks ago at John Lawson Park.  It was an extremely sunny and warm day for the beginning of October!   This little girl was too cute for words with all her different facial expressions

I had the pleasure of meeting Ben over drinks with my friends Maura and Dan, who also happen to be the founders of Strutta and Bootup Labs.   Ben had just moved to Vancouver from California as the new CEO of Strutta and we had talked about photography a bit, but since it’s wedding season for me, I kinda dropped the ball on setting up a photography session with him … until he reminded me at Launch Party …  We finally got together for this shoot at Dundarave Beach in West Vancouver where the weather was absolutely perfect and despite almost being hit by a train … I think Ben knocked this shoot out of the park!    Thanks Ben for being so easy to photograph and good luck at Strutta, it’s a great bunch!

Every year I donate a portrait/family session to help raise money for some of the local schools in West or North Vancouver.  This beautiful family won the auction for one of those fund raisers … I was so excited to photograph this family at their favorite spot…Radcliff beach.  It was so private and the kids were amazing little troopers and stuck it out for some photos when all they wanted to do was go swimming

Every year, my friend asks if I would donate a portrait package for an auction to help raise money for her son’s school in West Vancouver… this lovely family was the winner of that auction.  It was a real hoot photographing this family … the little girl kept posing like a model, loving every minute … the little guy on the other hand, was not in the mood to have his photo taken and tried really hard not to smile for me

I received an email a few days ago asking if I would be able to do a shoot of 2 little ones for a father’s day present.  I haven’t had a kids shoot in a while and was extremely excited to photograph little L & E.  John Lawson in West Vancouver is such a great place to photograph children because the park is there as well as the beach … lots of places for them to explore and to try to forget the camera is on them.  Good job…hope you enjoyed your ice cream … it was well deserved.

It’s always fun photographing this family!  I was very happy when Julie called to set up another family shoot, and even more so when I heard her dad and Kaye from P.E.I.  would be in them as well.  I have known this family for many years and it is always great to see Mike when he is in town. 

Mike and Kaye are getting married this June in P.E.I.  You are both such a joy to be around!  We wish you many many years of happiness and love

I received an email from Michael explaining how he was going to be proposing to his girlfriend Alex at the beach.  He wanted me to photograph the whole thing for him…yes please!  I couldn’t help but smile at how romantic this was going to be.  He had spent weeks timing the sunset and making different potions to put on the rope that he was going to light on fire.  It was going to spell out ”Marry Me Alex”…
