I love engagement sessions where we just wander around and shoot what people do on a daily basis.  This was so much fun seeing where Derek & Roseanne ride their bikes … eat burritos … and basically just hang out

You guys are awesome and I am looking forward to shooting your wedding in a couple of weeks!  It’s going to be a blast!

After rescheduling this session a few times due to crazy rainstorms … we were finally able to connect to photograph Danica & Hanson’s engagement session.  I was looking forward to this session because Danica put alot of thought into how she wanted her photos to turn out.  I love the fact that she incorporated so many of the things her and Hanson do on a daily basis.

These two love going to concerts at the Commodore Ballroom downtown … so what better location to start at

Being a little camera shy, Elizabeth & Michael chose to have a ‘First Look’.  It allowed us to get all the photos so they could enjoy their ceremony and reception … we casually walked around the park (with their 2 dogs in tow) and just took our time capturing photos.   They exchanged vows at the Celebration Pavillion (now called the Chapel in the Park) in Queen Elizabeth Park and then cocktail hour at Seasons in the Park with the Arcato Ensemble playing in the background while they mingled with their guests …

It was a lovely day … for a lovely couple …

P.S.  I told you it wasn’t going to rain

This broach has been in this family for many generations … all the previous brides have always worn it on their bodice … Elizabeth chose to wear it in her hair.  Her grandmother was thrilled that she wore it as well … it looked beautiful.

Elizabeth and Michael did a Swing dance for their first dance … more on that later … here is the dress that she was going to wear with it … so cute!  love all the crinoline!

Anticipating seeing Michael… she looked so regal!  People asked her if she was a professional model that day … she totally could be

It’s time to get married … her dad was so emotional during the ceremony … it was very sweet …

and I had to laugh because Elizabeth is a lawyer and that is the first time I have ever seen the bride actually read the marriage certificate to the witnesses

After dinner we saw a beautiful sunset so we scooted outside for another shot.

This was one of the coolest first dances I have ever seen … they did a “Swing” dance … I had way to many photos to choose from …

There are some people that come into your life where you instantly feel comfortable with them … I felt that way with Elizabeth … I think she is an absolute doll and am very honored to have photographed their wedding! I wish you both all the best!

I had the pleasure of shooting Phi & Hormazd’s wedding in Granville Island at the False Creek Community Centre a couple of weeks ago.   I  also got a chance to squeeze in an engagement session a few days before their wedding in Deep Cove. 

I enjoyed watching these 3 sisters all day … it is an incredibly special bond that these women have!  The grandfather also melted my heart, every time I saw him with Hormazd’s neice and all the emotions this man displayed throughout this beautiful wedding.  Both families were incredible!

Special thanks to my second shooter Greg for all his help … and it was the first time I had the pleasure of working with Michelle from Belissima Wedding Consulting and Jeremy from Stonethrow Studios videography.

Heidi and David had a beautiful quaint wedding at the Pan Pacific in downtown Vancouver.   It was an intimate party of 10 people, so it was very important for Heidi to have photos to send her family who were not able to attend.  They will be leaving for Germany in August for another wedding/celebration with her family there and I wish you all the best!  This is a long blog post for everyone in Europe who couldn’t attend.  Congratulations David & Heidi.

I am so happy to have met these two because they are so genuine and easy to be around.  I had the pleasure of meeting this couple because Joe works with Noel who I have photographed a few times in the past

This next photo cracks me up so much!!

Polkaroo … that is how Melanie (a registered veterinary technician) thought of Chris.  At the time he was the mysterious ‘cute paramedic guy’ that worked at the same Fort Erie Race Track.  Every time a mutual friend tried to introduce them, Chris had either just left or wasn’t working that shift, etc. etc.  there was always something that prevented them from meeting…Polkaroo…

Until one day…months later…Melanie went to a local pizza place for a birthday party and Chris happened to be there watching the World Juniors Hockey game.  They were a match!  I couldn’t be  happier for them!   Chris is now a firefighter for the Niagara Falls Fire Deptartment and Melanie is currently a stay-at-home mom with their beautiful boy Edan!

I was able to photograph their engagement session in Ancaster and spend some quality time with both of them before I flew back to Vancouver.  We went to the Hermitage Ruins  which some believe to be a ’haunted house’.  There are only a few walls left standing that were once part of a mansion from the 1830′s… they have guided ghost walks where you can explore the dark alley’s and remaining buildings where they believe ghosts still visit.  If that is too freaky then the hiking and trails on this property are pretty amazing as well.  I had a hard time keeping Chris’s attention, he was a true boy at heart and wanted to go out exploring instead of getting his photos taken.

It is always so amazing seeing you guys!  I am bummed that I will be missing your wedding in August!! 

Kevin & Rebecca had their wedding at the lovely Hycroft Manor in Vancouver on Friday, and what a stunning venue!! She has got to be the most laid back and calm bride I have ever had the pleasure of working with (and extremely photogenic)! From Opera singers, to antique lace and a bride and groom up for anything I threw their way…it was amazing…it was also fantastic to see Noel and Coralie who I photographed for their wedding last year. Noel was in Kevin’s wedding party and is always a joy to be around! K & R you guys are so fantastic and easy to be around…thank you so much for making me feel right at home and having me share in your special day. All the best…

Well we were finally able to squeeze in a quick engagement shoot before Kristina & Lauren’s BIG day!! We went to Whytecliff Park and took some photos along the water. What a great spot! Thanks for showing me this location…will definately keep it in mind for future shoots as well as family picnic days

Can’t wait for the BIG day on Saturday! You guys are alot of fun!
