This couple blew me away from the word “go”!   They put so much thought into this engagement session and I think it really paid off!!  Renee said to me that most people do not get their photos taken professionally and she wanted to look her best!  She had her ring cleaned … her hair done … her make up professionally done … new manicure … matching outfits … and all kinds of cool props!  I can’t thank you enough for making this such an easy session …

The first time I met these two our meeting lasted over two hours … it felt like no time had passed at all and we were just old friends enjoying a glass of wine on a sun-filled patio!  I love when I get clients like this … we immediately clicked and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding next year!!

There are certain people in this world who make you feel so comfortable, like you’ve been old friends for years.  Laura has that effect with everyone she comes into contact with.   Then there is Adam.  He is also one of the sweetest people I have ever met.  Seeing the two of them together … melts your heart.  There is so much love between them, it is evident just by the way they look at each other.

In the morning I met up with Laura and her daughter Hailey at Nasrin’s Salon where Mitra styled their hair and Dorota applied her makeup.  Watching Hailey’s expression while she watched her mother turn into a beautiful bride was so sweet to witness … she cracked me up quite a bit that day.

Is this the coolest eye-lash curler you’ve ever seen or what?!

While I was with the ladies … rock star Daniela Ciuffa was with the guys … Thanks D for all your help!

Because Adam & Laura are from Saskatchewan … they both opted to get ready at The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier in North Vancouver … this is also where the ceremony & reception were.  Extremely beautiful hotel.

I loved all of Hailey’s little details too … she was so excited to get ready.

When Laura walked down the aisle and grabbed Adam’s hand … he just kept repeating over and over again … “you are sooooo beautiful” with tears in his eyes as he rubbed her hand!  It was such an amazing reaction and so darn touching!!!!  My fav to date!

Her father performed a lovely ceremony and there wasn’t a dry eye throughout … then after Laura & Adam exchanged rings … he surprised everyone by going over to Hailey and putting a ring on her finger as well.  I love these shots that Daniela captured!  Hailey didn’t stop staring at it for the rest of the ceremony

Last summer I met this amazing woman/photographer/friend … Jen Berry … at a workshop in California.  She and I got to know each other a little through email and Facebook chat before we went to the Jasmine Star‘s workshop … and I couldn’t wait to meet her in person.  Over the past year we’ve been able to spend some time together and have had even more chats.  I adore this woman.  Not only is she incredibly talented and blows me away with her vision … she is really funny, sweet, caring and one of the most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

At WPPI, I had the opportunity of meeting her husband Steve and we totally hit it off and had a riot!!  It was so nice spending time with the two of them and I felt like I had known them forever!  I was very sad to hear they were leaving Vegas earlier than expected … and even sadder when I heard the reason.  Steve had been in remission with Hodgkin’s but it was back and they needed to get back to California to see his doctors…

I am always donating to different charities and supporting local kids etc. … but 95% of the time it is for strangers … when I saw that one of Jen & Steve’s friends were running a marathon to help raise money to kick cancers a$$ … I was more than happy to donate.   It always makes me feel good to support in any way I can and since I can’t be there to give them a big gigantic hug … this is the best that I can do to show my support … I hope all of you will check out Clare’s website and help her exceed her goal!   It doesn’t need to be a huge donation … every little bit helps

The ceremony this Saturday was held at VCAC Fraser Lands Church and was one that I won’t forget … besides nudging each other and giggling after something the pastor would say … Andrea actually gave Simon a piece of broccoli during her vows … the whole congregation broke out into laughter.    After the ceremony we headed out to Iona Beach for some fun formals and then off to Sun Sui Wah where they had the bride and groom play games and sit down to a delicious meal.

One of Andrea’s friends painted this family tree … a stamp made of a thumb print where people had to stamp a ‘leaf’ where they liked and then write their names in it.  Thought it was very creative!

Reverend Abe Chan was awesome!  I think every couple should be lined up like this so we can see the bride & Groom clearly … I loved it!!   Thank goodness he is so detail oriented.

Simon cracks me up!  We kept hoping the wind would blow her veil … it caught it a bit and then he tried to help it along

Decker & Christine live near the Britannia Heritage Shipyard in Steveston … so what better place to meet and take some shots of their engagement.  They booked me online so I had never had the pleasure of meeting them until a few days ago.  They were both very nice and am happy that they laughed at all of my jokes

The weather couldn’t be more perfect for this adorable couple on their special day!  I was thrilled when I saw blue skies and sun, sun, sun! Also, knowing my ever fabulous second shooter Tracey Heppner was going to be with me all day!!

I drove out to Richmond where the beautiful bride was getting ready and started giggling as soon as I walked in…Hannah started clapping and laughing when she saw me!   What a welcome!  The women were all so helpful and I could tell they all really care about Hannah.  They ALL helped her get ready and even bought her little gifts that were thoughtful, funny and meaningful.

Eugene and Hannah had a ceremony at Bethany Baptist Church that was very moving.  From the whole congregation singing together to her father coming up to preach a bit as well.  After the ceremony we are normally so rushed to get formals done but Hannah was an amazing planner (must be because of her teaching background) … but the wedding party stopped at Tim Horton’s/Wendy’s for a very relaxed lunch break.  After we had some laughs and grub, we headed to the Olympic Village in False Creek for the formals.  The whole wedding party was an absolute hoot to be around and the time just flew by.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful day.  You both are two very special people.  Wishing you a lifetime of happiness

This has got to be one of the nicest couples I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.  We had so much fun from the moment our day started.

The ceremony was held at the beautiful Hycroft Manor.  The minister was one of the best that I’ve seen.  He helped make it a very memorable, happy & fun ceremony.   Afterwards everyone gathered around to mingle and nibble on finger foods while the bride & groom finished their family shots.  Then we were off to Iona Beach with the wedding party.   The clouds were dark and gloomy but the photos turned out amazing!!  After Iona beach we still had some time left so we headed out to Steveston at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard for some more formals.

The reception was held at the Kirin Restaurant where the bride & groom were introduced with Canucks towels twirling and some hilarious newlywed games.

After rescheduling this session a few times due to crazy rainstorms … we were finally able to connect to photograph Danica & Hanson’s engagement session.  I was looking forward to this session because Danica put alot of thought into how she wanted her photos to turn out.  I love the fact that she incorporated so many of the things her and Hanson do on a daily basis.
