This wedding has been a long time coming

Matt & Lindsay wanted to do a cool trash the dress session even before the rain storm on their wedding … as luck would have it … there was torrential rain for this session as well … we rented a jeep for the day and went on a very adventurous drive to the Aruba Guadirikiri Caves and then the Bushiribana Ruins.  Here are the photos we came up with.

i have definitely been loving my black and white photos these days … this session was so intimate and full of love that i felt the majoritity needed to be black & white…i always love the emotions it evokes.

I love Lindsay & Matt’s story … they are one of those lucky couples who met on eHarmony and fell in love.  They both like to snowboard and hike as well as travel. So it was only fitting that Matt propose to Lindsay in St. Lucia over the holidays and then have a destination wedding

One of the reasons why Lindsay & Matt chose Aruba is that it doesn’t rain … well … not the case the day of the wedding … we woke up to a brutal rain storm.  But it didn’t phase Lindsay at all … she has got to be the most laid back bride I have seen to date

The Renaissance Hotel in Aruba has a private island where the couple got married.  You have to take a boat to get there.  This is what you see when you get over there …

I haven’t blogged in awhile … so I thought I would share a few samples of what I’ve been working on

Waaaaaaayyy more to come on this beautiful private island Renaissance Aruba Resort wedding.  It was pouring rain so we decided to rent a jeep and go exploring … look at all the goodies we found

This wedding was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen … it was not only romantic but had rustic charm and tons of details.  From the wild flower arrangements, to apples in tin buckets, to games in the grass for the kids … just lovely!  The Big Barn at Balls Falls is an amazing venue for a wedding.

Megan and Vince … it was truly my pleasure coming to Ontario to shoot your wedding.  You make a wonderful couple and I wish you years of happiness, love and good health.

Vince and Megan have got to be one of the sweetest … most sincere couples I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.  I cannot wait to show you the full blog post but I am having an incredibly hard time narrowing it down.  Their wedding at The Big Barn in Balls Falls, Ontario was truly beautiful!!  In the meantime, here are a few shots that I couldn’t help but post.

It is always a joy to see a couple so in tune with one another … Clay & Chrissie were always smiling, laughing, texting, crying, hugging or kissing like nobody else was around … their love is so focused on each other it brought a tear to my own eyes a few times throughout the day.  I am so happy for the both of you!

If it wasn’t for my good friend Carey Nash, I would never have had the opportunity to meet this amazing couple.  Since they grew up together,  Carey was asked to be in the wedding party so he couldn’t photograph their wedding.  I am sooooooooooo happy/honored that he referred me to Chrissie & Clay … the whole wedding in Tahoe was amazing … the bridal party was warm, welcoming and incredibly fun!!  Even though it was extremely windy and cold the day of the wedding we still managed to get some great shots and have a blast!

Big thank you to Katie Baldi who drove in from San Fran to second shoot with me!  It was great seeing you again as well!!  I appreciate you scoping out all the locations and showing me around your hood

It’s always amazing watching the wide range of emotions on the day of the wedding … the photo above is of Chrissie laughing with everyone … the one below is where she is overcome with emotions.

I have never seen anyone putting on mascara looking down into a mirror before … I’m going to have to try that

The Hyatt in Incline Village was such a beautiful venue for a wedding.  Just breathtaking … even with the high winds, I am so glad they decided to have it outdoors.

Clay got personalized money clips and flasks for each of the guys for standing in the wedding party … cool idea for gifts.

Chrissie loved the pine cones in Tahoe … so of course I had to do a ring shot

The day after Corey & Sarah tied the knot at the Barcelo Maya Palace in Mexico … we decided it would be great to sneak out the next day to grab some extra photos.  We finished just in time before the skies opened up and dumped on us… you guys are amazing.
